  • B.A.S.E: Minimum 2 years’ experience with foundational knowledge

  • F.A.D.E.D: Suitable for confident 3rd years and qualified hairdressers looking to enhance their men's cutting skills. No prior barbering experience required - this course bridges the gap between hairdressing and barbering techniques.

  • B.O.U.N.C.E: Open to all qualified stylists and confident 3rd years passionate about mastering curly hair techniques. Basic cutting experience required, with a desire to specialise in textured hair services.

B.A.S.E Fundamentals

B.A.S.E is an in-depth Fundamentals cutting program run over 3 days, focusing purely on the 9 fundamental haircuts:

  • Learning to draw the relevant sections.

  • Discussion and explanation of sections.

  • Demonstration of sectioning techniques prior to stylists’ practical commencement.

LEARNING THE FUNDAMENTALS IS THE KEY TO MASTERY

Why should you bother learning the fundamentals when there are so many advanced techniques to explore? The answer is simple: the fundamentals provide a strong foundation that'll support your future learning. The fundamentals are the basic principles of cutting. They're the “building blocks” upon which more advanced knowledge is built.

Course Details

COURSE OUTLINE

Each day will focus on a specific foundation shape: Triangle, Round and Square – based on the foundation of a Line, Graduation (horizontal) and Layers (expanded).

On full course completion, the stylists will be able to utilise the correct techniques and shapes for each foundation haircut. They will leave having completed and participated in the control and understanding of the 9 foundation techniques and on why and how they can utilise and implement these techniques on the salon floor, in real salon time.

To understand the importance and benefits of these shapes and techniques early in your career can only give you creative freedom in your cutting.

 

DELIVERY

We have established that a class maximum of 10 stylists works best. This allows us to incorporate an individual training experience with an inclusive shared experience. A place where artistic flair is allowed, expression is practiced with newly acquired knowledge in a relaxed, creative and professional environment.

 

EXPERIENCE LEVEL

This program is best suited for highly confident second years to senior stylists. For those wanting a deeper understanding of the 9 Fundamental cutting techniques followed through with practical application.

Classic staple haircut, short back & sides. Here you will learn how to create perfect balance within the cut. Correct sectioning pattern that gives you a road map from start to finish. This cut will give you confidence moving forward in classic men’s cutting.
